Why taking small steps is important.

The other day, I watched a documentary called 'Beyond the Secret - The Awakening' because I was curious about why many people get confused about the concept of 'The Law of Attraction'.

Over the years, I've met many people who enthusiastically promoted the idea that you could manifest whatever you focus on, or even that all you have to do is ask and the universe will provide.

I’ve always found that notion somewhat naive and lacking in an understanding of how life actually works.

I wasn't surprised to hear the speakers in the documentary all share what they believe is the missing piece and it’s really simple.

Nothing happens without action.

So across the world we have people teaching manifesting your dream life or all the riches in the world, just by wishing for it. In the meantime they are making lots of money and their followers rarely get what they want because what most people want is an easy life.

Taking action means you can’t just put out a wish and wait for it to happen, you actually have to get out there and make it happen. And sometimes you have to sacrifice, stay up all night and keep at it even when you don’t have the energy to do so. But this isn’t so sexy is it?

Across the world, many people are teaching others how to manifest their dream lives simply by wishing for them. However, while these teachers often profit greatly from this message, their followers rarely achieve their desired outcomes. This is because most people simply want an easy life, rather than taking the necessary action to make their dreams a reality.

In order to succeed, you must be willing to put in the hard work, stay up late, and persevere even when exhausted. Unfortunately, these aspects of success are not as sexy or appealing as the simple idea that all you have to do is make a wish. Also, these details of success don’t tend to sell well in a world that places great emphasis on instant gratification.

Enter Kaizen - (改善)

When one of the presenters introduced the term 'Kaizen', as a Buddhist, I quickly understood where they were heading.

Kaizen is a Japanese term that means "continuous(Kai) improvement(Zen)" or "change for the better." It is a philosophy and methodology that aims to improve processes and outcomes by constantly seeking small incremental improvements, rather than relying on big changes or sudden breakthroughs.

Kaizen is often associated with the manufacturing industry, particularly in Japan, but it can be applied to any field or area of life. Toyota is an example that has modelled its business on Kaizen philosophy.

Could you imagine marketing the 'Law of Attraction' in this way?

It's unlikely to have the same appeal to the general public.

Many individuals who buy into the idea of manifestation are content with jotting down a few wishes in their notebook and pasting pictures of their desired outcomes, such as a fit body, without being willing to address the root causes of their unwanted circumstances and take the necessary steps to achieve their goals.

Law of Attraction and manifestation is absolutely crucial to achieving one’s dreams.

So yes you should write them down, draw them out and visualise your dreams but you need to get up and make them happen.

It’s like starting out on road trip without having an end destination in mind. Its fine if all you want is a fun ride and not t00 bothered where you wind up. However in that case you shouldn’t get too upset if you don’t like the end destination.

But if you know exactly where you want to end up and firmly input that into your satnav, then you get into the drivers seat and head directly in that direction. You might need to stop for a bit if fuel, you may even find some traffic on the way but if you know where you are going that will all be part of the journey.

And that is how real Law of Attraction happens.

Every single day and every single minute of each day, your mind is focused on the direction you want to go and all those obstacles are nothing but part of the process.

You see if you want to prove to yourself that you can make your dreams come true then you can’t let fear get in the way.

Each small step that you take in the right direction reinforces possibility over impossibility. That’s why it is so important to acknowledge small triumps just as much as the big ones.

So, if you ever feel you can’t do it or begin to question your choices, go study the stories of those people that achieved what others thought was just a crazy dream. And what you’ll discover is that every single one of them worked hard, made sacrifices, and took risks.

Dream, wish and ask the universe for whatever you want but don’t sit on your arse waiting for it to magically appear - get out there and make it happen.

And if you need help on your journey, then reach out I’m happy to help.
